Overview

Closet IQ ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our app. By using Closet IQ, you consent to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, and password when you register.
Profile data: date of birth, gender, height, personal style preferences, and profile photo you provide during setup.
Clothing photos: images you upload to build your digital closet.
Location data: coarse location (city-level) used only for weather-based outfit suggestions. Precise location is never collected or stored.
Usage data: in-app interactions, outfit ratings, and feature usage to improve recommendations.
AI chat messages: messages and photos sent to the AI Stylist are stored to persist your conversation history across sessions.

How We Use Your Information

To generate personalized AI-powered outfit suggestions.
To provide weather-appropriate recommendations using your city or region.
To manage your account and authenticate your identity.
To improve app performance, features, and AI accuracy.
To send service-related notifications (never unsolicited marketing).

Authentication Providers

You may sign in using Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple. These providers authenticate your identity and share your name and email address with us. We do not receive your passwords. Your use of these services is also governed by Google's and Apple's respective privacy policies.

AI & Third-Party Services

Closet IQ uses Google Gemini to process styling queries and outfit descriptions. Photos and text you send to the AI Stylist feature are transmitted to Google's API for processing. AI conversation messages are stored in our database so your chat history persists across sessions. You may delete all conversation history at any time from the AI Stylist screen.

We use SerpAPI to retrieve publicly available product and fashion results. No personal data is shared with SerpAPI.

Weather data is sourced from WeatherAPI.com using your approximate location only.

Payments and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment card information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only share data with service providers strictly necessary to operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting via Supabase). All providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on industry-standard encrypted infrastructure. Clothing photos are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

No system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your credentials private.

Your Rights

Access: You can view all data associated with your account at any time.
Delete: You can delete your account and all associated data from the Profile section of the app. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
Correction: You can update your profile information at any time.
Portability: Contact us to request an export of your data.

Children's Privacy

Closet IQ is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the app after changes indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
